Fine Art Festivals of the Compound
Picture

The Round Top Fine Art Festivals at The Compound
are dynamic celebrations of creativity, showcasing a stunning array of artwork
in various mediums.

The Compound Round Top

The Compound, a 57-acre event destination just two miles south of Round Top’s historic town square, is a place where tradition and innovation come together. The Compound was thoughtfully designed to host events ranging from weddings and music festivals to art shows and beyond. Its barn-inspired architecture and park-like setting, complete with lush gardens, winding pathways, fountains, and gazebos, create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming. As it continues to evolve, The Compound remains a cornerstone of Fayette County, promising unforgettable experiences for all who visit.

The Compound Round Top welcomes everyone with an owner and festival director who both genuinely believe inclusion should always be present.

Mark Massey, former mayor of Round Top, Texas, strives to “keep Round Top, Round Top.” While preserving the character and charm of the town, Mark Massey works to manage growth with a goal of creating a center for creatives to gather and share. The Compound is just that sort of place to bring folks together.

By partnering  with A Meeting of Styles, Inc., The Compopund will be on a mission to provide regional, cultural, and educational enrichment that encourages, supports, and promotes visual arts and fine crafts with the inclusion of all artists and artisans from every group and demographic.

Owner Mark Massey & Show Director J.Howard

Mark Massey

Picture
As the youngest mayor in the history of Round Top, Mark Massey has always believed in the restoration and preservation of the pure essence of Texas culture and its deep roots held solid in fine art and fine crafts. Following in the footsteps of his father, he significantly revitalized Round Top, Texas, by acquiring historic properties, relocating significant structures like Moore’s Fort (the county's oldest), and transforming them into unique destinations like The Compound. He has a unique talent for blending historic preservation with new construction to create a cultural and retail hub, saving old buildings and adding modern appeal for antiques, art, and events.

His efforts, alongside the town's existing cultural roots has helped solidify Round Top's status as a major antiques, arts, and cultural destination, attracting visitors and businesses from around the nation.

J.Howard

Picture
J. Howard, known as the “visual storyteller,” will prove to be one of America's most collected artists. Her distinct details of line and color, as seen in her artist illustrations, are loved by art collectors around the world. Through sheer force of talent and dedication, she is achieving status in the art world that few contemporary artists even dream of. Crowded with intricate visual detail, haunted by presences seen and unseen, her drawings captivate the viewer on many levels. But, more important - particularly to her story – is her readiness to give God all the glory for her talents. J. Howard insists that the inspiration for each piece could only come from God.
She is also the founder and CEO of AMOS, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

As a show curator and director, she places the same passion and attention to detail in each and every event.

No festival is ever a success without
an incredible team of volunteers who
make it happen.
